Procedure Writing

Procedure Writing!!  

Martin the Alien has arrived on Earth and he wants to know how to make a Healthy Hamburger. I have written  a procedure, using the correct structure and language, to instruct Martin on how to make my favourite healthy hamburger.

Title: Cheeseburger

Ingredients/Materials:

cheese

patty

tomato sauce

bun

lettuce

Method:

1. Cook the patty in the pan for 10 minutes each side.
2. Put the cooked patty on the bun.
3. Slice the cheese and put in on the patty.
4. Squeeze the tomato sauce on top.
5. Put lettuce on top of the sauce.
6. Place the top bun on.
7. Eat and Enjoy!

We have been learning how to create animations. Here is my animation of my science project - parachute.

Adverbs

I have been learning how to use adverbs as sentence starters to make my writing more interesting.

In the summer I run through the gazing hot sun. The  lovely flowers.. red ..orange, yellow, green, blue and purple blow in the breeze.  Excitedly I enter the ice cream shop and order my favourite icecream. A nice frosty clump of ice sits on my icecream with a chocolate flake. Slowly the sun’s heat starts to melt my icecream. As I get to the beach the warm sand burns my feet. Quickly I run to the water to cool them off.

My Holiday

In the school holidays I drove to Auckland city and I went to Rainbows End. We went on the roller coaster. At first it went super slow up the track and when we got to the top we went zooming down really fast. It was fun. Mum was screaming! It was starting to get late so we hopped into the car and went home.

The next morning I saw these girls playing next door. They came over and asked my mum what her name was. They went back home to get something. It was flounder but mum only wanted one flounder. Mum cooked it on the BBQ. It was yum. The two girls names were Ayla and Waikaia. I played with them until it was night time.

The next day Ayla came over and kept playing all day long. I asked if I could go for a sleepover at her house next door.  It was fun because we watched Despicable me 2. It was funny. I thought the coolest part was when they used the fart gun. Then we went to sleep. In the morning we played on my tablet at my place. I had heaps of games on it. It was such a cool school holiday.

Waitangi Trip

Going to Waitangi

When we got to waitangi there was an automatic opening fence

that was controlled by a remote control.
It was weird and sort of freaky as well.  We were welcomed  into the grounds. It was cool because there was a big tent and there was also lots of gazebos.

Opua school was there as well to celebrate waitangi.

For matariki we played games, made kites and listened to funny stories.

It was fun at Waitangi.

Marshmallow

Marshmallows

One night there was a boy named Jake camping in the woods. He was roasting his marshmallows over the fire when he he heard something behind him. When he turned around he saw a crocodile. He was very quiet so the small boy gave the crocodile a marshmallow. He only had three marshmallows left. As the boy gave him the last marshmallow he snatched it from his hand.  When he ran out of marshmallows the crocodile got really mad. He started  chasing  the small boy around camp site. Then the boy had an idea. He found his pillow that looked like a marshmallow and gave it to the crocodile. The crocodile was so happy. Then the boy ran away screaming, help!!!!!!!

When the crocodile went to roast his marshmallow it popped. He got really sad. He  sat and looked  at  the  moon. They both lived happily ever after.

My First Narrative

Jaguar Invasion!

Once there were two people named Jake and Jayson. They were on a container ship until they accidentally got hit by a flying jet plane missile. It was shot so hard that the container ship sunk with the 500,000 people except for Jake and Jayson. Because they were best friends Jake helped Jayson onto a piece of shining metal and they both paddled to a faraway island with a humongous volcano.

Right in the center of the small island lived jaguars that could blend into the leaves and bushes, even the volcano. When Jake and Jayson got to the island a jaguar was already waiting for them. Luckily someone was there to help them fend the jaguars. Jake shot one with his gun and they took it home for dinner.  They enjoyed their dinner and lived happily on the island.

At school yesterday there was a lady named Lindsay . She was a rally car driver. She was very nice. She showed us her helmet and other clothes that she wears to keep her safe.
